1993 Key West 1900 Sportsman with SG900 T-Top

Stryker SG900 T-Top on a 1993 Key West 1900 Sportsman I recently purchased a Stryker SG900 T-Top for our 1993 Key West 1900 Sportsman, and I couldn’t be more impressed—from start to finish. First off, the Stryker website was incredibly helpful. It was packed with photos of similar boats, detailed product descriptions, and clear installation guides, making it easy to choose the right model and place the order confidently. We added the electronics box with pre-installed speakers and helm light, and at the time of purchase, we also received a free rocket launcher rod holder—a great bonus! The T-top arrived just a few days after ordering. Everything was well-packaged, complete, and fit together perfectly right out of the box. Installation was a breeze—very straightforward. I still need to finish wiring the top, but from what I can see, it looks like it will be simple. 

While the included instructions mentioned routing wires around the connections, I noticed that the fittings now have machined channels to allow wire pass-through—possibly a new feature not yet reflected in the manual. The SG900 T-Top has transformed our boat. It’s incredibly sturdy, looks fantastic, and the extra grab handles have made boarding and moving around on the boat much safer and easier, especially in rough water. Compared to our old bimini top, this is a huge upgrade—no more setting up, taking down, or dealing with straps in the way while fishing. The electronics box has helped clean up the console, allowing us to relocate the VHF antenna and anchor light above, which has freed up valuable space and reduced clutter. We debated between the SG600 and SG900. While the SG600 has 2" uprights, the SG900 has beefier 2.5" uprights. I was initially concerned the SG900 might be too large for our 19-foot boat, but now that it’s installed, I’m glad we went with it. 

The scale and proportions are perfect, and the additional grab bars were worth it. All in all, we feel like we gave our 32-year-old boat a brand new lease on life—for a fraction of the cost of a new one. We’re thrilled with the look, functionality, and quality. I highly recommend Stryker T-Tops to anyone considering adding a T-top to their boat.
